  •  6. September 2023
     19:00 - 20:30

ln 2021 Anki Takahashi was promoted to 9th Dan JKA, one of only six people to have that rank. We, Budokan Zürich, are grateful to organize this international seminar with Anki Takahashi as guest teacher for international seminar hosted in Zürich. Grandmaster Takahashi directs a high level of concentration on the technical aspects of karate. And yet, with witty remarks and gestures after strenuous exercises, he always provides the necessary loosening up. This way of doing training is unique and is something that never fails to motivate. Anki sensei also has a reputation in karate circles as a calligrapher. One of his noted contributions was for the book “Dojokun” by Andreas. F. Albrecht.

This International Seminar will share with students from Switzerland, Germany, Italy (and other countries) the most advanced knowledge in Karate Do. The seminar is unique because worldwide there are only 6 other persons with the same rank as Grandmaster Anki Takahashi: 9th Dan JKA.
Karate can be practiced as an art (budo), self defense or as a combat sport. Traditional Karate places emphasis on self-development (budo). Modern Japanese style training emphasizes the psychological elements incorporated into a proper kokoro (attitude) such as perseverance, fearlessness, virtue and leadership skills. Sport Karate places emphasis on exercise and competition. This is a unique opportunity to promote friendship between the countries and the Japanese culture worldwide.
