The SWISS-JAPAN ASSOCIATION, Swiss Romande Section, actively cooperates in preparing the month of Japanese Culture which takes place every year in autumn in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.

It has supported creation and production of a CD-ROM about Japanese Gardens by Pierre Rambach as well as reprinting the book entitled “Le Japon Illustré” by Aimé Humbert, the first plenipotentiary diplomat of the Swiss Confederation to Japan who signed the first Peace Treaty embracing friendship and commerce between both countries. Illustrations appearing on the web-site are taken from this book.

A scholarship of 5'000.- Swiss francs for a study trip to Japan may be granted, depending on the financial resources available.

A certain number of activities mentioned above sometimes reunite members of other associations such as the Japan Club, Ikebana International, etc.

At the end of the year, a traditional Swiss or Japanese dinner brings together a large number of Association members and friends in a pleasant, festive atmosphere.
