Film: “A.UN“ (Buddies), 1989, 114 Min. Regie: Yasuo Furuhata
Sumiko Fuji came back to the screen after a 17-year absence with this film BUDDIES, an adaptation of the Kuniko Mukoda’s novel, starring with the skilled actor, Ken Takakura. The film plays at the beginning of the Shôwa era around 1935 and describes the year-long friendship between two men with affection and humor. Ken Takakura, who usually has a serious role, plays a rich and witty playboy. Directed by Yasuo Furuhata and shot by Daisaku Kimura, this film got several awards in Japan.
